It’s the time of the year (again!!) to make New Years ”promises” … some of us, probably because of eating/drinking too much over the Xmas holidays, wants to quit sugar, wheat, cigarets or alcohol to lose some weight! Magazines are full of different kind of diets, how to lose all that excess weight! But there’s no short cuts or pills; just with eating lots of plant based foods, lean meats and whole grains, drinking plenty of water, exercising, sleeping well and reducing stress, it will all come off … you don’t need any magics!

January is also the golden time for the gyms to sign new members in… Gyms are packed! You can see people exercising like mad for first couple of weeks. They are filled with energy, but unfortunately little by little that ” love at first sight” starts to come hard to maintain… Maybe too much too soon? And sooner than we realise, we are back in the old habits… excuses comes; no time, too busy, its too cold outside…  Well, never mind, it’s good to make these promises even if it lasts only a short period of time! Its better than nothing! 

But let’s make Year 2013 to be different! It doesn’t matter what your goal is, but to make it achievable, it needs to be  SMART.
